Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, is an annual celebration with roots in Europe. It arrived in the USA in the 18th century, starting in Mobile, Alabama. New Orleans became the main hub for Mardi Gras, hosting grand parades, vibrant costumes, and lively street parties. The celebration begins on January 6th and ends on Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras in the USA is known for its elaborate floats, Mardi Gras Indian tribes, delicious food like King Cake and gumbo, and a lively atmosphere that brings people together from all backgrounds.
